Testimonials

CIC’s purchase of carbon offsets is part of Saskatchewan’s transition strategy to meet our Green House Gas (GHG) emissions targets. Under the Go Green strategy, the government has set the target of reducing greenhouse gas emissions  from 2006 levels by 20 per cent  by 2020.

CIC has entered in a contractual agreement with Greenfield Carbon Offsetters Inc. to deliver 30,000 tonnes of verified carbon offsets over the next 20 years. When the verified credits are provided to CIC, the first being credits being available in 2019, CIC will use those offsets credits as reductions against its direct greenhouse gas emissions (GHG) at that time.

TransCanada Energy Ltd. believes there is more than one solution to mitigating climate change and we are happy to work with Greenfield to bring a unique opportunity to the carbon marketplace.
